About Mboka Lion
Mboka Lion is a Congolese rapper and singer from a village in Kwilu province. Growing up between oral traditions and tribal sounds, he moves to Kinshasa to build his career. With a mix of Afrobeat, reggae, rap-soul and dancehall, he tells in English and Lingala stories of struggle, hope, identity and resilience. His first album Nzela ya Bomoyi is a journey that explores roots, daily difficulties and forgotten voices, maintaining a strong bond with his homeland and urban community.
About the Album
Nzela ya Bomoyi (The Road of Life) is Mboka Lion's debut album, a sonic journey that tells the passage from the village of Kwilu to the urban jungle of Kinshasa. Through 12 tracks that blend rap, soul, reggae and dancehall, the album explores identity, injustice, shattered dreams and hope. In a mixed language between English and Lingala, Mboka sings the harsh reality with heart and conscience, giving voice to the Congolese people between colonial past, daily struggles and desire for rebirth.
